Can you envision every blood cancer patient empowered to actively manage their disease?

And so can Giora Sharf who has lived through the journey of diagnosis, treatment and eventual cancer-free remission. He’ll be sharing his experience at our virtual Global Oncohematology Summit, streaming live September 13 and 14.

I’ll be there

A 23-year CML patient’s journey – from darkness to light

“I feel that my personal story reflects on the revolution that CML has gone through in the last 20+ years.”

Giora Sharf

Diagnosed with CML at the age of 47, Giora Sharf researched available treatment options, ultimately enrolling in the IRIS trial in June 2000. After being PCR negative for 14 years, he stopped treatment and is now in treatment free remission (TFR) for more than eight years.

Determined to use his experience to help other CML patients, Mr. Sharf has gone on to found or co-found multiple organizations including Israeli CML Patients Organization, Flute of Light – Israeli Blood Cancer Patients Organization and The Leukemia Patient Advocates Foundation.

Take the I Can pledge – a decision that improves patients’ lives – and join us to hear how Mr. Sharf’s work helps patients become active partners in managing their own disease.
